Comorbidity in traumatic brain injury and risk of all-cause mortality, functional and financial burden: A decade-long population-based cohort study
Objectives
This study examines the relationship between multiple co-existing comorbidity clusters by sex in TBI on health resource utilization including ER visits, readmissions and postacute care up to 3 years post injury, controlling for demographic and injury severity variables. And, this research seeks to identify comorbid conditions associated with poor functional outcomes utilizing population based data sources over a 10 year period with 35,000 cases.
