Building Awareness and Service Provider Capacity for IPV-BI in Canada
This project intends to improve service provider and public knowledge of IPV-BI, and is committed to create evidence-based resources and protocols. It is creating a collectively forged and collaboratively sustained one-stop shop for survivors, healthcare providers, academics, policymakers, social service providers, other professionals supporting and interacting with survivors of IPV-BI, and members of the public. It is intended to build bridges between traditionally siloed professions by fostering cross-pollination between various knowledge holders and care providers. The project aims to foster survivor centred care and provider responses, refining system of care frameworks as to ultimately improve resource accessibility, educational methods, research, and intervention strategies. Further, this project undertakes targeted educational and awareness activities in Nunavut directly informed by the community, as to advance culturally and context specific resources, awareness, and support services.
