Research

The Acquired Brain Injury (ABI) Research Lab is an internationally recognized research lab that performs population-based epidemiological and smaller-scale, quantitative research. Our research addresses issues such as

  • Injury prevention
  • Health service utilization
  • Health service inequities among vulnerable populations, such as homeless and criminalized people and older adults
  • Work-related traumatic brain injury (TBI) and return to work afterwards
  • Girls and women with TBI
  • The role of sex/gender on outcomes of ABI/TBI for adults, youth and children

We use diverse and innovative knowledge translation strategies such as research-based theatre, mobile applications, animated short videos, webcasting, newsletters, and brochures to share our research with our stakeholders and the public.
